PROJECT SUMMARY
OC Public Works will complete a flood control restoration project in a portion of the Santa Ana Gardens Channel that runs along South Raitt Street in Santa Ana. Work will include the use of heavy equipment and the placement of large rocks (referred to as “rip rap”) within the channel.
WHAT
Crews will perform improvements within the flood control channel in your area to address erosion and ensure the channel is operating effectively for flood protection.
The placement of large rocks (“rip rap”) is a standard flood control measure to reduce erosion of the channel slopes.
Residents living in close proximity to the flood channel experience a temporary increase in noise and dust during working hours.
Access to the pedestrian/running trail on the west side of the channel will be open during construction.
Traffic control/safety measures will be in place. There may be brief delays or stops for the public along the adjacent path for vehicles and equipment entering the work area. Flag personnel will be on site to guide people through the area.
Drivers will have full access to all surrounding roads, yet may experience brief delays at times during certain project activities.
