Peters Canyon Channel Sediment Removal
Bike Trail Closure Due to Flood Control Maintenance Project
PROJECT SUMMARY
OC Public Works will remove accumulated sediment within the Peters Canyon Flood Control Channel from Interstate 5 to south of Edinger Avenue within the City of Irvine. The west side trail adjacent to the flood control channel will be temporarily closed while the east side we remain open.
WHAT
Crews will be removing excess sediment from the Peters Canyon Flood Control Channel as part of flood control maintenance. The west side bike trail will be closed during project work hours, as trail users will be directed to the east side trail that will remain open.
WHEN
October 31 — January 13, 2023
Closure of west side bike trail (including bike trail entrances/exits on west side of flood channel):
Weekdays, 7 a.m.—4 p.m.
WHERE
Project area includes Peters Canyon Channel between the 5 Freeway and south of Walnut Avenue.
West side bike trail closure:
From El Camino Real (north of 5 Freeway) to Edinger Avenue
*East side bike trail will remain open
